This policy explains how Stacking It ("we", "us") handles personal data when you visit stacking-it.com (the "Site"). We're committed to keeping it simple and to protecting your privacy in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who is responsible for your data

2. What we collect

Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address, name (if you give it) and the content of your message.
Technical data. Like most websites, our web server automatically logs your IP address, browser type, device, pages requested and the date and time of the request.

At the moment the Site has no accounts, forms, advertising or analytics, and we do not set non-essential cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.

We never ask for bank details, card numbers or passwords. Please don't send them to us.

4. Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Site (such as hosting and email providers), acting on our instructions, and with authorities where the law requires it. If any provider is based outside the UK, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place.

Emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and a reasonable period after, generally no more than 12 months. Server logs are kept for a short period, typically up to 90 days, unless needed to investigate abuse.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access your data, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to its use, and to data portability, where these apply. To use any of them, email hello@stacking-it.com. We'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.

7. Cookies

We do not currently use cookies or similar technologies beyond those strictly necessary for the Site to work. If we add analytics or marketing tools we'll ask for your consent where the law requires and list them here.

8. Children

The Site is intended for people aged 16 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you think a child has sent us personal data, please contact us and we'll delete it.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including HTTPS, to protect your data. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows the latest version.
